30 Hour Travel to Delhi

So begins our trip to India. The plan is fly to Hong Kong, then into Delhi. Stay in Delhi for a few days then make our way down south towards Chennai and the southern tip featuring Kerala, Hampi and Goa.

I don’t really know what to expect. I think that’s the best part, that’s the part that keeps on drawing me back - the wonder, mystery and excitement of discovering a new perspective or an uncomfortable scenario lingers.

The sheer magnitude of force required to get my body into India is astounding. The pilot was waxing poetic, to mostly deaf ears, at the beginning of our 15 hour flight about the power of flight and the fuel required to traverse half the globe. It takes 110 tons of fuel to transport a plane with around 350 people from Toronto to Hong Kong.

Everytime I get on a plane, it never fails to amaze me that I’m in a flying metal tube, 36,000 feet in the air.

Upon a lot of reflection and reconciling past elements of my life with the future that awaits me, I sit serenly in the aircraft waiting for my eyes to absorb the light of India. What will happen? Who will I become? Could it suck? So many questions waiting to be answered. A wonderful trip awaits - the trip of a lifetime.

More photos and experiences to come!
